Congratulations to John Anhalt and Kelli Hughes for surpassing the previous record that stood for 13 years. In their modified C7 ZR1 Corvette, they averaged 173.004 mph over both 59 mile legs. The exhaust was so hot it melted the rear facia and tail lights. It was impressive to see up close.
