Hello all,I'm back working on my 72 chevelle since my c6 z06 has been assembled blast owning and driving.
I just purchased the Aeromotive 66136 - Aeromotive BoostWorx Returnless ZL1 Pulse Width Modulation Kit
Im using a ricks restomod 69 camaro tank that i got for a real good deal.
I plan to use a 5th gen camaro 1le pump i also picked up cheap.
My engine is a ly6 6.0 with ls3 heads, manifold, and fuel rails and injectors.
I need some photos on how you guys mounted your pwm,and how it was wired,at the moment I have the stock ss chevelle gauges, and wiring harness.
Any help would be appreciated.

I mounted mine on the inner wheel tub. I ran the harness over the edge of the trunk pan and down across the tank using the same hole as the fuel sender wires.

Chris,I'm using an HPI LS swap harness, that has a feed and output side of its relay, but aren't wired but hpi provides 2 black terminals to complete the circuit, the vaporworx PWM installation instructions say use pin D for 12v + fuel pump enable/turn on,and pin H,yellow wire ecm fpe ground
Is it wired straight to my swap harness or do I need to pin it thru the connector?
Btw I called aeromotive and they sent my call to Carl in Colorado, but he never picked up or got back to me??

I'm using the CTS-V pump to my instructions don't have an H pin. The fuel pump out from the relay should got to the D terminal through the plug that mates to the blue.
Looking at the instructions on Aeromotive for the 66162(i just picked one) it seems like its for an aftermarket fuel pump, I'm assuming that's what you're using? From what I gather in the the instructions, you would not use the yellow wire because that's for ECM's that have a negative pump trigger. The blue is for ECM with a positive pump trigger signal which the LS has.
The negative wire from your fuel pump would attach to the Vaporworx controller where the negative battery terminal connection also goes.

Post some pics of your harness and the instructions. I’m having a bit of a hard time following you.
If your harness has a relay you simply connect the relay 12 volt output to the 12 volt connection on the Vaporworx controller. The ground on the Vaporworx controller goes to battery/ chassis ground. This shouldn’t be complex.

I'll take some pictures of the harness when I get home tonight.
I bought the #66136 kit,it's a boostworks kit but I won't use the extra parts at.the moment as I'm NA at this time
Btw iam using a returnless.gen5 camaro ss 1le GM fuel pump module.
No aftermarket pump

I'm with Don, the wiring on these is really straightforward. You may be overthinking the relay. Just wire it up as HPI said but the output that they say goes to the fuel pump goes to the Vaporworx.
Also check to make sure that the pinout on the 8 way connector preinstalled on the vaporworx matches the instructions. Otherwise it will do some weird things.

Will do.
Yeah ive been over thinking, and overwhelmed of late.
Dad passed away in August, and I have my 79yr old mom living with my wife and I.
Have been doing a bathroom remodel and had to put a new countershaft, and whole gear set in the c6 z06 tr6060, which is time consuming, but not hard.
Gotta make lemonade with the lemons life gives sometimes!
Donny,do you have experience installing the Hpi LS swap harness kits?

The red wire cones out of the relay on the right .

Please post the instructions that came with your harness that describe the fuel pump control and relay.

Just connect the fuel pump power from your harness to the blue wire on the vaporworx. The wire I circled in red.

Will do.
The instructions kinda lack detail on that part.

I see visually with it in color now for some reason hahaha.
The one aeromotive sent is in black and white and kinda blurry.
Maybe something carl needs to talk to them about.
I appreciate the. Help,I'll post the pictures today.
Thank you.

It sounds like I should skip calling Aeromotive and go straight to Carl with questions. Is he still at the VaporWorx number?

Yeah when I called they tried sending my call and questions to him and I didn't get a response, that why I posted here alot of helpful members on here.

Carl sold Vaporworx to Aeromotive and now he works for them managing their engineering.

Use only one of the trigger-on wires, not both.
In this case the blue 12v would be appropriate. Either the FPE coming from the ECM or the output from the relay that would normally power the fuel pump positive.

Hey Don,
The latest version of the PWM controllers have a negative trigger option as well for turn-on. Not many ECM's use negative, but a crafty person could figure a way to use it to turn the controller on with the engine off ;-)

The 66162 is a ReturnX system meant to be used with a return line and external pressure regulator. It is not recommended to use a return-type system with modern fuel modules, including the CTS-V.

Carl, what are the ramifications of using a return-type system with a modern fuel module? In my case, an Edelbrock 35860 Pro-Flo4 and a ZL-1 module?

how do you get a return on a fuel module that only has an outlet?

The correct answer is you can not add a return to the module. You can add a return to the tank, though. The problem is that it will pump the reservoir dry in the module, which is one of the reasons to run the module in the first place.
When you compare the costs of a vaporworx controller to a quality bypass regulator and the materials needed to run the return line and then factor in the time spent mounting and routing said return line......the vaporworx controller is really a great deal and you get a far better fuel system.

Did you purchase that fuel door somewhere? Someone did a poor job of one on my car that I was going to just leave but I like that one & it looks large enough to cover what I have now.
