I know this has been discussed before, I do want to share my recent finds about what parts fit really well.

I’ve been working on my ’69 Camaro BBC project for a while now. About a year ago, I had the chance to buy a bunch of parts all at once. I did my homework and placed the order. Most of what I bought was RideTech—front and rear suspension components—because the marketing literature seemed clear. Nothing in it suggested any fitment issues, and I already trusted the quality. With the stock components (subframe, frame/motor mounts, and oil pan) in place, I thought I was set.

I’m sure you can already guess where this is going… the oil pan didn’t fit, the headers didn’t fit—nowhere close—with the TruTurn system. After that, I revisited the product page, descriptions, FAQ, and vehicle fitment info. Everything looked fine; no mention of interference or what the TruTurn system is actually compatible with.

I’ve called RideTech support three different times, only to be told, “Let me check with someone and I’ll call you back.” I understand they can’t design around every possible combination, but they do need to clearly specify what combinations have been tested.

After months of trial, error, and swapping parts, I finally have a Tru Turn setup that works on a ’69 Camaro with a BBC, Borgeson quick-ratio steering and long tube headers:

Milodon 30970 oil pan – (plenty of clearance between the center link and the pan) https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mil-30970
CX Racing 2″ stainless long-tube headers – (clears everything even the lower head bolts, lots of room around the steering box) https://www.cxracing.com/HD-BBC-CAMARO6769?search=69%20camaro%20bbc

Here’s a link with several pictures showing the oil pan and header clearance:
