Wire insulation question

The wire is going to my starter are really close to the starter and headers. I thought of wrapping the wires with heat shield wrap. Don’t know if this is OK. Can someone give me some advice here. I wrapped it and attach some photos below. Let me know what you think. I don’t know if it’s OK to wrap electrical terminals like this with heat wrap. Just wanted to try to give it a little bit of protection from the starter and keep it away from the exhaust headers.

It will work, but I'm not a fan of that heat blanket material as over time it can get oil soaked which can lead to degradation of the installation on the wires. For a vehicle that sees limited usage it shouldn't be a problem.

A simple metal shield will work just as well also. Many vehicles came from the OE with them.

On a separate note I would be concerned with how close that brake line is to the header too.

Just a guess on my part but it looks like a LS engine?
On my LS swaps I bend the wire connectors 90 degrees so they go forward and away from the header. Not down like the pic above. Both the battery cable and starter wire.
Also all LS starters came with a tin shield that is "spring" loaded and clamps over the starter solenoid. They pretty much give them away at salvage yards.
The other thing to consider the cable shield that you are using is a bit metallic? If it frays it could touch the battery cable terminal and create all kinds of trouble.
