Anyone else have to replace gas struts because they are not holding the cowl induction hood up? I already replaced mine once with stronger gas struts directly from Ring Bros, but now they are not holding my hood up again. Could it by because I live at high altitude in Albuquerque?

Not sure why but I just replaced my 80 pound gas springs last week because they stopped holding up my CF hood. They must not seal very well? I bought all of mine at McMaster Carr,

I am near sea level.

My hinges came from Fesler about 6 years ago , they are still holding in full up position but they won't
hold the hood part way up .

Fesler no longer sells these hinges but they gave me a phone number
for the place they bought their gas struts from.

I ordered new struts and had them send them to Calgary, I was there in April.

It's called LS Technologies in Saskatoon , Canada.
Ask for Nolan, he knows his stuff and will recommend best strut for you hood.
