How long are BFG rivals safe? I have 2015 tires on my Camaro I know 10 is the max., but I have brand new rivals that have been sitting in the basement for a while. DOT 1319 and 1919…6 years old, they still look new! How long are these tires good for?

Safe for what?

I've never had to make this decision for tires I compete on. For just driving around, the '19 tires should be fine.

If they have visible cracking they are junk and not safe. They are probably safe for normal driving and burnouts. But I wouldn't track them.

I don’t see competing in the near future. Just drive around and some street fun. Even if I bought 2025 tires, they still would probably only get a few hundred miles in the next 6 years.

BFG reps don’t seem to be as worried as a tire shop. BFG told me, they are good if they inspect good….no if’s and or buts…..

Tire shops are about making money and money and more money,

I had a @Discounttire young lady telling me my tires were 2 years old and they were worn to 6/32, and they needed to be replaced soon, for my daily, I buy Michelins, she really caught me off guard, so I went and looked at them with her, nothing wrong, no where near the wear bars or wears bars showing, told her they were fine and get on with the rotation and balancing......

remember its about removing the hard earned money from your pocket and putting it in there's

Driving around town sure, no problemo. Driving a few hundred miles of desert heat at 80mph, maybe not a great idea.
