Body color or not?

I was looking at alot of cars here lately and was asking my self what to do. I really like the inner fenders being painted body color and I like it the chassis black finish. What would you do?
The car is a '70 chevelle. The color is Electron Blue Metallic. Also I will have a polished radiator.

imo i would go with whatever you are doing your firewall in, if the firewall gets body color then the inners should, i think it is to much contrast when firewall is black and inners are body color, keep things close to each other similer or it will call attention to the brighter of the two, i like everything to blend in and not call for attention

I love the when the inners and wells match the body color.. really updates the engine bay and ties it in with the car.. much cleaner looking..

I agree with steve having the firewall and wells match the body color looks great.However if you plan on driving and working on it alot you may consider black just my .02

Most people do the core support to match also.. but I didnt like the idea of seeing the body color through the front grill.. so i powdered it in a dark charcole grey metallic.. this color also matches the dash, intake and serveral other parts around the car.

Generally I try to have a three color car (ie. blue, silver, black).. but with silvers you can have more and its ok since they complement each other well..

You could also do the core support in the body color and then do the side facing the grill in gloss black..

I spend hours swapping around colors and such.. you want the right amounts of each color and not too much of one of them. Thats why my Fuel Rail Covers are the stripe color (silverstone) the intake is charcole and other parts are done in the blue.. I wanted just enough blue on the engine to tie it into the car..

And those were the OLD engine bay pics.. its gonna look much better with the new firewall, smoothed inner fenderwells, color matched DSE wiper motor and other goodies (plus a proper air intake)..

I think it depends on what you want your car to look like. With body color inner fenders and firewall, it would be moe of a street machine kind of vibe. Black inners and firewalls is a little more "muscle car", truer to the original. What kind of induction and accessories are you going to be running? Is the interior going to be vintage, or are you going with a more modern flair? To me, I'd try to make the whole car have the same kind of feel.

I would ask yourself what do you want to draw attention too and how much money or time do you want to spend sanding and prepping those parts!
