Hey all, I just went to the welding shop for supplies and was talking to the guy about hearing protection. I asked about Bluetooth earmuffs. He said they only get about two guys a year asking for that so they’d never carry em. He said he uses a cheap pair of earbuds and throws muffs on when needed. Honestly not a bad way to think when he’s all in at $70 or so.
what do you guys use in the shop? I’ve had some AirPod pro’s for about three years and have really liked them. They are on their way out now with some bad feedback when they chose to. Also I have a hard time putting muffs on over them because of that small stem that comes down almost always makes them pop out of my ears. Also I’ve had many close calls with them falling out and nearly ending up in a hose, puddle or something worse.
i talked to a guy in construction who says he uses the axil’s but those are $200. A guy who shoots a lot recommended walker’s silencer 2.0 but I’m not sure if those would keep down the noises of a grinder. I do like the noise cancelling from my AirPods. Even running a bandsaw to cut metal, it’s fine without muffs. Just now I’m looking for car guys choices.
