I lost my much-loved DD recently due to a fire, so I'm in the market and looking at something old an interesting again.

I just came across a 69 Torino wagon and I'm wondering what is available to improve the steering, suspension, and brakes for these. I'm under the impression what works on a coupe works on a wagon. (correct me if I'm wrong)
My biggest concern is the steering. I had a 70 Mustang that I sold because after replacing everything in the front end I still had a major dead spot from the play in the power steering switch. I'd hate to buy this Torino and find myself in the same situation. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I would go with a Borgeson p/s conversion. I'm no fan of the Bendix ram-style steering assist used on these cars. the Borgeson conversion will give you a modern, quick ratio steering box and let you ditch the original system.

I've been trying to learn more about the Borgeson steering boxes. Do you have any firsthand experience with one? I read mixed reviews on the Vintage Mustang Forum but much of the info sounds secondhand. On paper they sound like a perfect fix.
