I am still looking for a dip and a coat. Checked metak rehab they just strip and prime. I am looking for an ecoat dip after stripping. Anybody know of anyone doing this in another state close to to Or around Texas would be willing to drive a ways to get it done.

I'm still looking for the same for a complete shell. In Mark Steilow's Mule build he had the car dipped and coated somewhere in Michigan, if really don't mind driving. I'm shure someone here has a copy of the PHR issue with info in it.

The place that Mark used is no longer around. There is a shop in Romulus, MI that can do the same service. They are International Paint Stripping 734-942-0500. I have not done any business with them yet, but I plan on taking the doors and fenders to my 68 there when I'm ready to get into the body. I hope can find a shop closer to you, if not they can fix you up.
Edit: I believe this is the shop trapin took his car to, correct me if I'm wrong.

There's a place in Jackson Miss (http://www.metalfinishings.com/gallery1.html) that does the dipping and e-coating. I think he does the dipping and then takes it to another local company for the e-coating but it sounds like it's a one-stop service (drop & then pick-up). I called to get a verbal quote and was quoted around $3000-$3500 for a '67 Camaro.

Here's a thread where I discussed Metal Finishing Services and Systems Electro Coating, LLC here in Jackson, Mississippi....
To Acid Dip & E-Coat.... (https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2492)
I've been to their shop a few times and seen a lot of their work. I've been quoted $900 to dip my Camaro body and $900 to e-coat. Doors, fenders, hood/trunk lids, etc. are extra. That was 6 months ago so prices may have gone up.
Metal Finishing Services has also done some small powder coating jobs for me. So far, I've been completely satisfied.
You can drop it off at Metal Finishing Services and they will take care of getting it to the e-coater and back for you. It's several miles between the two locations.
I'm in Jackson so if you need any help let me know.

Why not have it blasted and epoxy prime? I've had two cars dipped and am not all that impressed with the process. To me, e-coat is a must if you do it because you cannot get inside the rockers and all the other cavities. Blasting only strips the parts you can get paint on and leaves a nice tooth for the paint. You also don' t have to worry about acids that are not completely neutralized.

I've had doors and trunks dipped in the past and it's almost impossible to neutralize every square inch and then you could have acid eating in the cracks. The e-coat dip would be a nice and almost necessary addition I would think. Seems pretty pricey to me to do both as compared to blasting/epoxy.

What is the "e-coat"? There is a place in Toledo, OH that can dip frames/chassis that I planned on taking my '68 Camaro shell too, it is a Alkaline dip (not acid dip).

No not those strippers!
CHEMICAL dipping service, tanks are large enough for a full car body, entirely removes paint and rust from metal, facility includes professionally staffed restoration facility available to service all of your restoration needs, located in central Florida. Auto Restoration Depot Inc, 122 S 8th Ave, Wauchula, FL 33873, 863-773-2545.
I have heard some good things about these folks and their pricing seem fair when compared to others....however, they have a pretty long waiting period.

What is the "e-coat"?
EDP, or electro deposit primer. It's more like a plating or anodizing, electrically bonding the primer to the metal.
