I have a handful of tools that I don't have room to keep out on the workbench (grinder/sander, drill press & medium vise primarily), and when I need them of course the workbench is full of other stuff so I end up using the tools on the floor.

I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to change between these tools as needed.

I've heard of people building a hitch receiver into their workbench and then using a few hitch mounted winch attachments for various tools, but that isn't an option for me.

Looking for ideas that may utilize something like this? With some sort of "quick release" to swap between grinder, drill press, vise, etc...

I use something similar to this to use a winch on different vehicles, but a receiver hitch mount can be attached to your existing workbench and each of your tools can be slid in when needed. The receiver can be had in different configurations. On the tool side of things, there are several styles of receiver mount or you can make your own. This method would be a lot faster than unbolting/rebolting each tool as needed. And, for things like the grinder you can incorporate a shield around the back to keep ground crap from getting all over the work bench.

The only downside is you would need to do a little extra work for stability. A receiver hitch is not really stable although it would be very strong and secure. For stability, I'd drill a 3/4 inch hole into the top of the receiver and weld a large nut to the top. The idea would be to use a large bolt to push against the top of the receiver mount inside the receiver hitch to keep it from vibrating/shaking. You may need to do a second bolt into the side.
