I'm selling a 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV that's had a rotisserie restoration. I bought it as a running and driving project when I was stationed in Italy in 2015 and the restoration is finally done.

I did a lot of the work myself, but I have waaayyyy too much invested, so I'd like to cut my losses as much as possible. From what I can tell, BAT is my best bet, but I've always sold my cars on eBay, so I'd appreciate any tips that anyone can provide on selling on BAT.

I have signed up with BAT already; photos scheduled for tomorrow evening.

Thanks,

Scott

They will likely push for a low reserve. Hold your ground.

Wear you flame proof underwear, or stand in the middle of a circle and let people insult you nonstop,

I have an e30 M3 and part of a SIG, I see BAT post all the time, not just people from the SIG but info on the ruthlessness of the comments,

But I have also seen a sales the flow right through, the was a Lateral G member sold his 67 Camaro, very nice and well built, sold on BAT, minutes before the end it blew up the price,

cool car, good luck,

I listed my Camaro there a few years ago. It was an interesting process listing with an auction house and it did get a lot of attention and comments. Best advice is to answer any questions in the chat and like the others said, be prepared for some of the comments. Some people can be ruthless. Fortunately, I really didn't get any of that when I listed, but I've seen some other listings where it wasn't good.

Overall, it was a great experience but my car didn't sell there. They did push a lower reserve, and also prompted me during the end of the listing to lower my reserve but I stood my ground. I actually sold my car on another forum very similar to this. There are definitely people out there on the internet forums with some serious cash, so don't underestimate them.

Good luck with your listing, you'll do great.

Pics and videos will be your best friend. The better the pics and details the easier it will be. Answer all the questions. Let it ride

I agree with others about brutal comments. Mostly about cleanliness, wheel tire choices. Yours is clean and original style wheels and tires, so you should be OK. I had a 1991 Audi V8 quattro 5 speed on there and they ridiculed my wheels and some dirt on it, but loved the rarity of the 5 speed V8 quattro and spread the word nationwide about it for sale. A guy flew in and drove it back to LA from Nebraska. Good experience overall.

I window shop BAT every week. The comments can be brutal from time to time, but like others have said, you can never have too many pictures. When you make a driving video, go find somewhere safe and make a GOOD video. No one wants a five-minute video of you idling through a neighborhood at 25mph. It looks like the car was built to be driven hard, so show potential buyers it is capable of that.
