Dressing out my LS3 and trying to find a the best budget friendly option for ignition coils. Not too keen on spending $400-$500 for MSD or some other brand names unless I have to. Rock auto has some budget friendly options, I’m just not sure which ones to go with.

I've run Standard Blue Streaks on a stock engine in the past, and they did all right for me. 25ish bucks each, so 200ish bucks for a set. Their plug wires are OK for a budget as well.

That is one of the brands we manufacture. We also make the same coil in these boxes: Standard, BWD, GP Sorenson, and Echlin. The coils are wound and potted in our Poland plant. The only component difference between the high performance version we offered and the standard coil was the coil boot. It may have changed since they were made in SC but the high performance version had a higher temperature tolerant boot.

This is good information about the difference in boot temperature tolerance. We're looking to get MSD coils for the incoming LS3 project. We'll work on it when the new exhaust and tires from 4Wheelonline show up.

It really only matters for marketing. Both materials pass durability testing and there needed to be a distinction between "regular" and "premium" line parts.

Just FYI, I run our coils and fuel injectors on my BMW E46 track car without issue.
