Is anyone doing other style of air cleaners then the typical 14 inch round one? Maybe custom?
Advice . Pictures
I found these when searching for a smaller air cleaner for my 69.

Back when I was young and clueless I'd run one of those with as tall a filter as I could fit. It looks cool and sounds great especially when the big barrels on a quadrajet open, but draws hot underhood air into the engine. Today, knowing a bit more, I'd go with a carb hat and a modern airbox that draws air from the fender. Alternatively, I'd go with a dual snorkel with cold air plumbing if I wanted a traditional look. I saw a kit for a 68 Cutlass that had bumper inlets but as it was an ebay picture there's no telling how long that one would stay up.

Yes, many car enthusiasts use custom air cleaners for a unique look or better performance. Some opt for oval or cone-shaped filters, while others design custom covers to match their engine bay. Cold air intakes or ram air systems are popular alternatives as well.
