I currently have a pretty significant build thread over on the second gen forums. https://nastyz28.com/threads/1978-z-28-2019-zl1-amalgam.344828/

I've been swapping the electronics/dash/console/engine/trans from a salvaged 2019 Camaro ZL1 into a 1978 Camaro Z-28. There's not really that much left of the 1978 and even those pieces have been modified in some way.

I'm going to start posting to both sites since both are relevant to this build. Would you guys prefer I start copy/pasting a condensed version of my older posts from over there as catch up or would you prefer I just start off from where the build currently sits?

Here is a couple teaser pics.

Love the build. Definitely post up some pictures of your progress through the years.

I love this build, I’ve always had a soft spot for 2nd gen Camaros (I have had 5, including my current ’70). The suspension on yours is top shelf, especially the IRS, and the front setup is great. It looks like you are using an LT4 in this car. What an amazing build. Nice work.

A 78 was my first car, that is why I have a special spot in my heart for the ugly duckling.

You are correct that is an LT4 with a TR6060 but I also salvaged most of the chassis modules and wiring from a 2019 ZL1. I had saw someone swapped a 5th gen dash into a second gen trans am so I figured I try my hands at a 6th gen partial interior swap. I needed something to challenge the ole bad decision maker. Since I work in the cyber security field and have experience working on projects for work that involve automobile vulnerability assessments I figured why not. CANBUS is nothing more than 2 wire ethernet and the serial data gateways are just a dumbed down FW/Router.
