Hey guys,
I need to replace my radiator. There is a pipe coupler on the upper pipe that doesn’t look like it has a hose clamp on it. I haven’t run into this before. Any help on how to get the coupler off? Is that welded under the that rubber cover?

Heat shrink hose clamps. https://www.gates.com/us/en/fluid-power/engine-hose/hose-clamps-and-couplings.p.7405-000000-000000.html
You can get them at most parts stores. You can also replace them with regular worm drive clamps.
Cutting them off can be done with a utility knife but usually trashes the hose underneath. There is a special slitting tool for removing them but it will be cheaper to just buy a new piece of rubber hose to put in there.

Brilliant, thank you!

NAPA usually has these in stock in a variety of sizes. They are, IMHO, the best hose clamps available.
But, they are not reusable. To remove, a soldering iron works great. Just hot-slice the clamp axially. I have the mentioned tool and have had mixed results.

Grainger has the best prices on those Gates shrink clamps if you have one locally, you might need to order the size you want.

So I'm getting ready to order these. It looks like there are two per connection and a hose underneath? Does it matter what hose I replace it with? I am assuming any high quality straight rad hose will work. So cut the old stuff off, slip on the new straight rad hose over the seam and then slide the two pieces of heat shrink over top and heat them? Let me know if that's the procedure. thanks.

Yes any hose works. They come individually I thought. I get mine on amazon. Yes heat gun to shrink. Don't overheat it, or it will warp, take your time and let it shrink slowly. Another tip is to use some rubbing alcohol to get the numbering off of it. If you care. I didn't like the look with the lettering.
