Anyone have any recommendations on the best front
springs and dampers for a 1970 A body LSx iron block swap??
This one is purely a family cruiser, not a racer

Right now its factory front suspension, and Im about to
Rip out the UCA and LCA to replace with tubular & CPP
AFX spindles for C5 brake setup and figured now is the time

I did an LS1 swap on my 2nd gen F-Body and used the
Hotchkis TVS and I had to cut modify as it was still too high
So I dont need another track car….lol

Since its an iron block I think I would go with SBC springs. I like and use Bilstein shocks on my hot rod projects.

550 lb/inch springs will be a good starting point.

I have been very happy with the BMR Springs and Bilstein BSN-24-131506 shocks on my 69 lemans. Depending on what you’re looking for they have stock height, 1” drop , or 2” drop springs available.

I have a UMI shock and spring kit for a 68-72 chevelle. I have upgraded to coilovers but if your interested let me know.

I had to cut some of the front spring down (it calls for it in the instructions) I cut just enough to put the suspension in the middle of its travel at rest. Car handled exceptional and had a killer stance.
