Replace lifter on BBC without removing intake

Has anyone tried this, I see there’s plenty of room to try but have never tried it myself.

Yeah, I've done it using a strong magnet on a telescoping shaft that is common.

The bigger question is why just the lifter?

The engine sat for 8 years and when I started it it had a loose rocker on the exhaust like the lifter collapsed. I have heard that's possible/common. All other appear tight.

Yeah, cool. There is big enough void in the BBC head to pull it through.
