Ok Guys its mid January in Michigan and we had a 50 degree day. I had an oppurtunity to get my car out for one of the first times. Unfortunatly it was later at night and did not make for the best pics. This is a project I started last January from a car that was basicly a rolling chasis. looking for opinions on the stance of the car. I lowered the front 2 inches, and left the old worn out leafs in the back. I was just trying to get an idea of how much lower I would like to take it front and rear. I really like the lower stance although I dont dont want to make it undrivable. I see alot of guys using the 2in drops leafs as well. Just looking at the vehicle I dont know if 2in will be enough. Thanks for any input and comments you might have.

I would just say another 1/2"-1" in the front and 1" - 1 1/2" out back. Other than that it looks great!

Looks great. It looks like you can lower the front 1/2 inch & lower the back 1 inch more. Nice choice in taking a picture in front of the lights.

How would you get another 1/2 to 1 in lower in front? Allready used drop springs. (new springs again?)

I think your car looks great. Honestly though, I don't think 1"-1 1/2" would lower it enough in the back UNLESS you increase the sidewall height of your rear tires. I think you would need at least a 2" drop in back. I do think the car looks great.

One think I know for sure..... It needs to be lowered all the way around.
What is your wheel and tire sizes? That is one why to give it a lower stance look without sacrificing ride height.

I'm no Camaro expert. List this question in some other sections might help.

P.S. The car looks mighty good.

The car looks great, just needs to be lowered. You might benefit from 3" drop springs on that car (do a search for a thread by streetfytr68 in which he outlined the differences between the 2" and 3" drop springs on his '68), I would lower the front another .75-1" if possible.

They are 18 by 7 front, and 18 by 8 in the rear

tire size 245.40.18 and 265.35.18

cut off a 1/4 of a coil to a 1/2 coil will take it down some in the front! Drop leafs in the rear

nice looking car, I agree that it should come down a couple of inches....but i'm one of those guys where they can never be to low, I played around with your pic............might give you a bit of an idea of what it will look like lowered.........................

Thats the look I want !!!!
Is it possible to go that low with stock fenderwells in front?
again thanks for the pic I can use that to bring to the suspension shop to give them an idea of what I am looking for.

After looking at the two side by side, the stance now looks like I should be hauling wood with it. What a difference it makes

How much clearance do you have from the top of your front tire to the fender, and how much clearance do you have from the top of your rear tire to your fender. Do you have drop spindles in it?

You can get away with less lowering by going to a bigger sidewall height. The thing that looks so great about that photochopped version isn't really the lowered ride height but rather how much better the wheelwells are filled and that the front fender eclipses the top of the front tire. Look into going with a taller sidewall to fill the wheelwells and a slight lowering job both front and rear and you won't lose much actual rideheight or ground clearance.

Just MHO...

right now I just have 2in drop springs, have not had time to measure clearance.

It's tough to tell from your pic because it's faily dark but it almost looks like you could get away with a 2" drop spindle in the front and the back could come down a couple also if not 3" maybe. Or play around with different tire sizing, but if your rubber is fairly new then it's probably cheaper to buy a set of spindles....

rubber is brand new. what about cutting half a coil, or a full coil?
