Hey guys, hoping someone has some info here. I’m in the process of upgrading an old 13” Baer track system (2 piston PBR calipers) to their 13” T4 4 piston setup, and am running into issues with my wheel spokes hitting the caliper. The wheels are 17” torque thrust II’s, and diameter seems to be totally fine. It’s just the shape of the spokes where they curve near the top of the caliper that’s the issue. I don’t think going up to an 18” TT II wheel would help.

Anyway, does anyone know of a similar wheel that’ll clear the T4 calipers? I’m going to try a spacer first, but I don’t have a ton of room to move my wheel outboard. Voxx wheels makes something that’s very similar, but they mention it fitting most modern brakes. As much as I’d like to order up a set of Forgelines, I don’t think I want to invest that in wheels right now. I also really like the US Mag “Bandit” wheel (looks a lot like a Pontiac Rally II), but again I don’t know if they’ll clear.

any info is appreciated.

I figured a bunch of guys on here would have the 4 piston Baer Track system, but maybe not? Either way, I’ll answer my own question in case anyone has a similar dilemma in the future: the American Racing TT2 wheels have crap caliper clearance at the spokes. I got a set of the US Mag Bandit wheels and I have a ton of clearance. Unfortunately I’m not sure how you’d easily verify this if buying wheels. I took a gamble and it worked out. The Baer templates are great if you already have a wheel and want to know if the new brakes will work with it, but I’m not so sure how you’d do it the other way around like I did.

I have the track 4 with Billet specilties 18" Mag-G wheel.
They were tight to the caliper face like yours.
If I remember correctly, the wheel would spin, but it was like a sheet of paper clearance.
I had to put a 1/4" spacer on them...

On my current 80 Camaro project with TTII 18" wheels running C5 brakes I had to add a 1/8" spacers to have enough clearance between the caliper and the inner side of the spoke. Just bought some 1/8" alum flat stock and made them to fit the spindle and bolt pattern. Cost about $20.

I ended up trying different wheels because even a 1/4” spacer looked to be really tight, and any thicker spacer was going to push the wheel out too close to the fender lip. Plus I didn’t really want to run a spacer or install longer wheel studs. The old 17” TT2’s cleared my old 13” Baer system (C4 style PBR calipers) with plenty of room, but the 4 piston caliper is quite a bit wider.

I’m happy with the new wheels as they really have the Pontiac Rally II vibe and were affordable.

Bud! In the same boat, track 4s with TT2 17" do not clear.

What size sre your new wheels? I see the style, but not dimensions. 18x8? What offset?

Tried several wheels, no luck. Looking at spacers, but prefer not to.

I see youre in SB, I am in Ventura county, pretty close

bump for OP, would appreciate it. 18" Weld Venturas zero offset didnt clear either.

Sorry…never saw this. Should have shot me a PM. The wheels are 17x8 with a 4.5” backspacing. Lots of clearance around the spokes. It seems to be a wheel design thing more so than anything else.
