Looking to use a new Pirelli tire that will soon be available for mini tubbed 69. The tire is 325/25 R 20. The Diameter is 26.4" which shoulde be fine. My concern is with the profile. I believe a 20" wheel will measure approx 21" across diameter of outer bead. THis leaves about 2.7" of tire between the edge of the rim and the ground. Should I be concerned about this?

actual sidewall height is 3.19 which isn't too bad???
the formula is
325x.25x2/25.4/2=3.1988188

Thanks for the response. I understand that the actual sidewall is 3.19, but what will be visible from the side will be 3.19 minus about .5" of the lip of the rim, correct?

hmmmmmm...ya your probably right! What kind of wheels are they soft lip profile or regular stlye hoops?? I don't think that would look bad at all as long as you can get a front tire that looks the same size as the rear.

I could be wrong, but would be concerned with two things: a hard ride and the ease of bending a rim.

Unless you're not concerned with having the same amount of sidewall or less in the front that's where the biggest worry of bending a wheel is going to be. At best your're probably going to wind up with a 35 series sidewall in the front and you're going to have to be both carefull and lucky when driving this thing. I know because I drive a 55 Nomad with 225/40-18s in the front and you have to watch where you're going al the time. There is not much room for error - but 6 years and almost 10K later I'm still OK. Forget the ride Perelli's ride hard to start with and 3" side walls are not going to be forgiving at all.
