Has anyone used a Chevy LT block for an LS build? Asking because the LT block is aluminum and supposed to be able to handle 900+HP from the factory before you must be concerned with it. The most I'm interested in is 600-700 crank HP as I just want a fun to drive truck and not something I have to fight with to drive. I know the heads have a different dowel location but beyond that, anything to stop one from using an LT block and rotating assembly with LS heads and ECM? Not interested in an LT topside due to the intake valve carbon fouling problem.

i know you can use the LS BLOCK with the LT gen 5 heads
thats actually a power upgrade
BUT
you need
a special cam , since exh/int valves are reverse on LTs compared to LS (https://briantooleyracing.com/btr-lt-head-swap-230-camshaft-for-ls-engines.html)
and you need Injector block of plates for the heads ( https://www.ictbillet.com/lt-gen-v-fuel-rail-block-off-plates-direct-injection-delete-lt1-lt4-l83-l86-ltx.html)
+ a MPFI intake ( mast motorsports sells them https://gwatneyperformance.com/product/mast-motorsports-lst-conversion-lt2-intake-manifold-650-hp/)

I was more hoping to hear that someone had done it and it was working, but I do appreciate it. Bookmarking that intake. Unfortunately that cam won't work - it's an LS blank cut for LT heads, and I would need an LT blank cut for LS heads, but any cam manufacturer would be able to make that. I've not decided how to go yet, but that's a definite possibility right now.

Update, not bothering with this. Too much trouble.
