a little about me. welder. machinist. fabricator. motorcycle engine builder.

I thought i would have a try at building an LS motor. found a 6.0 LS. welded up the combustion chambers so it would have better compression. nothing I have not done on air cooled motors. no big deal. I have not yet cc'ed them. not sure what cr I can get away with seeing as how this motor does not have much quench. hoping someone here might know.

I took apart my 65 elcamino to put an LS motor and 4l80 in it. I wanted to move the center of gravity back so I cut out the firewall and trans tunnel and moved the engine back. made a new firewall and trans tunnel. moved the transmission cross member back and shortened the drive shaft 11.5 inches. made mounts for wilwood duel master cylinders. changed the steering. moved the seats. made a new gas pedal. I dont recommend doing this. it is a lot of work.

I have also finished an aluminum dash insert, an aluminum steering column. some tubular a arms to add some caster, coil over mounts, brake caliper mounts, fabricated parts for the rear end to change the instant center. the list goes on.

I can now see light at the end of the tunnel.

will post pics later.
