Ignition requirement when running boost QUESTION (??)

I have a similar question posted under "power adders" as well, wasn't sure where I would get the best response.
I'm having a fully forged 383 with approx. 8.8 compression built and will be running an Edelbrock Eforce supercharger with 5 lbs. of boost. My question is; with only 5 lbs. of boost do I need (or should I run), and MSD box that not only controls ignition but also monitors boost to retard the timing if needed?
I will be running 91 octane pump gas. This is strictly a weekend fun car, no racing but certainly putting my foot in it once in a while. (32 Ford coupe)

Typical retard is 2 degrees per pound of boost. You don't need a full control setup. If you are looking for something simple, you can just back total timing down 10 degrees and be perfectly safe. There are obvious advantages to full Holley HP or MSD control boxes but they are expensive and may not be in the budget.
