Hey all, just purchased a '71 Dodge Coronet in a vain attempt to relive my youth. :lmao: First car was a '72 big block Coronet (ex-patrol car) and always wanted another one, and recently found this '71 at a wrecking yard who had purchased it at auction to sell complete. It's a dead stock, 318/auto currently with worn out stock suspension and 10" drum brakes (all 4). I have most of what I need either here or incoming to get the suspension to a basic, better handling state, then brakes... then likely a GenIII Hemi swap.
I've spent the last 40+ years working on cars (machinist/mechanic/fab) both for personal use and professionally, including a decade doing restorations and vintage race work. Also been driving my own cars on track the same amount of time and was a performance driving coach for many years.
And just because I like the extremes... I'm also in the bare metal replacement stage on my '71 Mini restoration.
A few pics are always good...
Me at 16(ish) with the first Coronet

Current '71 as I'm leaving the wrecking yard, and at home after a wash

At this point I've mostly been replacing all the brake parts (stock for now), and getting the engine compartment sorted (and as I always do, making it look better)
As I bought it, and how it sits today
