I need some help with this one not sure whats wrong and could use some pointers where to look. I have a 67 firebird with a SBC, fitech efi, mallory ignition box, cainister coil, painless wiring harness. Currently the car won't start, I seam to be getting spark at initial crank, but as you continue to crank there is no spark? I've verified power at the coil on initial crank, but no power if you continue to crank. The power wire to the mallory is getting key on power, initial crank power, but no power after initial crank? When the key goes from crank to key on its like it wants to fire over and stumbles. I've verified i am getting fuel, checked coil to be sure it is testing good, all fuses seam good, good battery, plenty of crank. This was a running setup that is typically reliable prior to the coil going a few weeks before.
I had an incident a few weeks back when on a way back from a ride the car just died, so 1st thing i checked was the coil, tested bad so I replaced the coil and it fired right up. Let it run for a few minutes all good or so i though. A couple weeks went by I try and start it and it won't fire.
How do I know if this is a fuse panel issue, could the coil taking a dump cause a short of some kind, could it be the ignition switch or ???
