Hello, just wanted to share some pics and some updates on this project here and there. I've wanted a First Gen Camaro since early Middle school. Guy in my hometown had a 67 Black Camaro with white stripes, fell in love with them then. Project started a little over a year ago for a friend (his car). Originally had a 396 with a Muncie 4 speed. The project started shortly after he purchased the car. It shifted horribly. Linkage was super messed up, linkage was installed incorrectly and not adjusted correctly either. Also had a truck bell housing installed, pilot bushing basically missing and the countershaft was leaking badly. Decided to do a TKX Tremec swap for him, new clutch, flywheel. 12 Bolt rear was also needing attention, leaf spring bracket welds cracked, lots of C clip play and some other issues as well. Swapped in a new 12 Bolt rear, Tru Trac, 33 spline axles, rear disc conversion. Went with Ridetech for suspension parts also. New upper and lower tubular control arms (Hyperco coil springs in the front), new front sway bar, 4 Link in the rear. Was softly but persistenlty trying to buy the car while this work was happening. Got everything together around the end of last year. After a pretty crazy sequence of events early this year the car became mine. Down the rabbit hole I jumped / fell lol
Pulled the 396 and replaced with a new 406, tilt steering column, steering wheel, gauge cluster, tight ratio steering box, 6 piston front brakes, front seats, installed mini tubs, American autowire wiring harness and fuse panel, all lights led now, efi conversion, pedal cluster, new carpet, 2015 Camaro center console swap, subframe connectors and new body bushings, relocated battery, Forgeline rims (17*9 in the front, 18 *11 rears) and lots I'm forgetting too. That gets me to the present. Just got the car running about 2 weeks ago, drove for the first time last weekend. Sorry for the long intro :(
Just wanted to share some pics. Been a fun project so far but I'm also looking forward to just driving it instead of working on it.20917120917220917320917420917520917620917720917 8209179

Looks killer Thank you :)
I'm pretty stoked with it so far. Definitely had some hickups along the way but can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

Beautiful car, nicely done. Those front seats look great and comfy too, what are they?

They're TMI's Sport R low backs with Headrest. They're really nice, super comfortable and have great support. Was annoying had to pay extra to not have their logo on the sides but worth the extra in my opinion.

Looks great!

Where did you get that subframe connector bracket? Is it a separate piece? I’m needing something like that.

Looks good man. I also like the seats; I was looking at a set for my 57 Chevy as my interior is in need of help. Always like the look of machined aluminum hood hinges myself, they may not make HP but they look cool.

I used Ridetech's subframe connectors. I really like them, nice the leaf spring pocket is part of them (or their 4 link ties into them nicely too). They're pretty beefy as well.

Thank you sir :)
I was thrilled with the seats plus they had a Father's Day sale which saved me plenty as an added benefit. I agree about the hinges. Every time I looked at the stock hinges they seemed uglier than the time before lol

Thanks! After I posted I noticed the little logo and suspected Ridetech. Thanks to your picture I may have solved a problem on my car.

Perfect! Glad I could help lol
They fit really well on my car, very close to the floor pan but not touching either. The leaf spring mount fit really well also. I figured it was a great time to throw in their body mount bushings as well.Hope they work well for ya

Finally got a few break in miles on her today. So far so good, oil pressure looks great, efi working nicely. No rubbing or weird noises either. Super happy with it so far. Want to get some more easyish miles on the clutch, trans and rear end before I start beating on it :) 209245

Rainy Sunday, suppose as good a day as any to start something I've been dreading. Starting to cut down the rear seat to fit after the mini tub install. Don't think it'll be too bad, just doesn't seem like it'll be fun either.
The before pic (hopefully the after pics look decent enough to post lol).209255

Looks amazing bud
I really dig the wheel choice and how the rotors fill them completely.
Usually not a fan of the modern center consoles but you made yours fit and show really well I didnt even notice it until I re-read your intro.
Looking for one of my own!

Thanks man, appreciate your comments. I saw a set of these rims on another 68 Camaro
online (Forgeline GW3's, Steve Peterson was the cars owner I believe) and I loved their look.
The 2015 console works great in my opinion and who doesn't love a couple of cup holders lol. Little massaging needed and some quick brackets to fab up and your done. My seats are snug to the console but not horribly so.

So I got my rear seat cut down where needed to acommodate the mini tubs. Honestly way easier than I thought it would be. Hardest part was not catching them on fire lol. Also got a little bracket mounted up to hold my Holley 3.5" touchscreen under the ashtray. Didn't take the best pic of that but you get the idea. :)
Got my 3 point seatbelts all finished up as well. Used Morris's setup and also got their longer mounting bracket to slide the belt reel back to make room for my TMI seats. Pretty nice setup. Nice having some decent seatbelts compared to the lap belts. Quick photo from last Saturday too.209356209357209358

Small update- have almost 400 miles on the car, so far so good. Biggest issue I had was horrible throttle control. The throttle was crazy stiff, almost rough. Turns out it was the throttle body itself. Holley should really include their throttle extension lever with their kit. I installed their lever, it's 100 times better. Also had a small leak from the chrome cover on the 12 bolt rear. Was a good chance to install Moser's stouter rear cover with the supports and change out the oil too. Everything e209625209626lse is working as it should :)
