Hey guys,
I adjusted my valves yesterday trying to chase down some noisy lifters. I found two lifters that, after driving the car, I could still depress with my hand. IOW, they weren't super firm like the rest of the lifters. I am wondering if that is an indication of a bad lifter and if I should just replace them. It's a big job but I am comfortable doing it.
Second question: If I do replace them, should I switch to solid? Some have said they need to be adjusted from time to time, but I have also read there are plenty of guys that say they set them and forget them. The stability up top in the rpm range would be nice as would be the free 15 or so horsepower. My motor spins to 6500 rpm, not crazy but it's up there.
Thanks.
