I am in the middle of a pro-touring restoration of my 68 Firebird Convertible. I want to refurb the convertible top frame/mechanism (disassemble, blast, powder coat, new bushings, …). It operated fine before removing from the car but looks its 50+ years of age.

I have called quite a few shops and no one, so far, is interested. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone which might be able to do this?

I’m located in Delaware and willing to transport the top mechanism within 4-5 hours.

Thanks!

It's not difficult to do, I did my 69 Impala top frame. You would probably be better served doing it yourself. There are top hardware/bushing kits available and I found everything about the bushings was a standard ID/OD. Worst case you may be cutting down a bronze bushing to the correct height.

Just take a lot of pictures before disassembly and send it all out to a powder coater.
