I have a 55 Ford Ranch Wagon and found a deal on a 2006 Ford Explorer. I have see a lot where they swap F100's on to the explorer chassis but can not find much help on the car swap. I have found a car for sale that had the swap but that is about it. I the Explorer is AWP with the 3-valve SOHC 4.6. Thought it would be fun to do some performance work to the 4.6 and have a fun AWD Ranch Wagon. Any one have any helpful advice?

I had a wagon like that a few years ago. Such a cool car. I have been trying to remember what I was going to use for a chassis but for the life of can't recall at the moment. When I remember I will post it. I was going to use a GM product because of something I had and the wheel base was only like a 1/2" off from a perfect fit.I don't know anything about the explorer Sounds like it would be fun a can be tho!

Well I actually made a small deviation from the explorer and came across an 05 Lincoln Aviator. It has the 4v 4.6 and a few other performance improvements over the explorers. I drove from STL 5 hours to MS last night and grabbed it for $800. The body has already be mostly cut off. I am into further research mode. I am finding a ton for F100s that have been swapped like this but it seems there is not much on the car front.
