View Full Version : Lizard skin alternative?

Did a ton of research over the years and found a product I think a lot would like to know about. I tested it and have to share my results.

I had been looking for a thermal barrier product like lizard skin to reduce heat but didn't like how it reduced my wallet. Found out it's basically ceramic balls in paint. Found some on Amazon and tried it out. One coat gave amazing results!! Check it out!!

Looks good. I would probably wear a mask/respirator next time tho. :)

Thanks for sharing! I remember a very similar thread in here years ago talking about the same thing. I sprayed the lizard skin two coat system on my car, came out very thick and the gun had a large opening to spray from. What size tip was on the gun you used?

More recently I used raptor liner on the wheel wells and inside of the trunk. I liked that it is catalyzed, hoping for a durable coating that gasoline won’t remove. Also found that my local paint shop has it is spray cans.
