LS3 Radiator Fan Controller

I have an LS3 in my 68 Chevelle. I’ve installed dual radiator fans. I know the engine control box has an output from a 50A fuse. Can you through the computer have a dual fan setup or do I need a aftermarket controller to ramp fans up and down, OR, just wire up the fans to both come on at the same time, OR, just go to one big fan. Thanks I’m advance.

You can wire it so they both turn on and off at the same time but it will be noisy. A PWM fan controller from Northern Radiator or DC Controls will be a lot quieter and not have big on/off current spikes.

What’s controlling the engine? If it’s a factory GM ECU like an E38, you can use an OEM fan controller. I have a C6 Corvette controller on my car, but this is only for smaller fans. There are options depending on your setup and cooling needs.

It also has a CAN chip onboard so you can just pull coolant temp off the bus so you don't need a sensor.

Not to sidetrack from the original post......will this product work with brushed fans? If yes, could you also run this from a GM temp sensor welded above the lower rad hose for a non ECM fan control? TIA.

Yes, this controller is designed specifically to run brushed motors (fans included).
Yes, you can run a fan cooling strategy independent of an engine control computer with a stand alone temp sensor.

The software is configurable via a PC app (or it can be pre-programmed if you don't want to screw with it).
It has options for 3 temp sensors. You just tell it which sensor you are using.
