I apologize in advance if this has been discussed a ton, but I am a bit computer tech challenged. I am gathering the parts to do an LS3 swap in my 67 Camaro and a "friend" who may help me with the swap is pushing me towards a cable throttle body. He has apparently completed a ton of swaps and swears I will be happier with cable.

I have the Terminator X Max kit and am running a t56 Magnum. Opinions?

I was hoping someone that has been down this road would jump in a help an old guy out. The Holley x Max has a dbw harness but I am being told throttle response and feel is much better with cable. Any first gen Camaro men out there?

I’m guessing you can’t send PMs since you’re new to the forum, but I’d get Andrew’s (AndrewB70) opinion. He’s a Holley tuner that has a lot of experience with those systems. I ended up going with a factory E38 ECU on my LS7 build for various reasons, but I’d had some conversations with Andrew concerning doing a Terminator X. He told me he prefers the DBW with the Terminator X, but I’m sure he can elaborate on that.

I've done a couple of DBW LS3 swaps with GM ecm's. I used Corvette DBW throttle bodies. Both worked well. I have used DBC on a few older LS swaps. Stock LS1 throttle bodies. Again no issues. I haven't used Holley but I doubt it be a problem.

I have done the terminator Max DBW on a truck project and it works fine. Be sure to get the proper pedal and I used the gold blade TB.

Don't be surprised if you have to slow the opening rate. Holley defaults to 1 to 1
