1969 Corvette 427 Hard Top / T-Top
GENERAL
This 1969 Corvette was stripped down to the bone for a rotisserie restoration. It has a rebuilt 454 4-Bolt Main (not original to the car) ready to fire up. The interior has been completely reupholstered in Black Beluga Leatherette and is ready to install. The body has been
completely stripped down, old paint stripped, fiberglass repaired, and bodywork done to the point it is ready to be prepped and painted. We are swamped with other projects and are selling the car at or near complete. It is at a point that the buyer can choose one of several options:
1 Have us finish the body paint and ship the rolling chassis with 454 motor and trans dropped in and unwired, and carefully place the leather interior inside the car uninstalled, and ship the car as a rolling complete car to be finished by the buyer.
2. Leave car in its primered state, drop the motor and transmission in (unwired), carefully place the leather interior inside the car uninstalled, and ship to buyer as a rolling complete car to be finished by the buyer.
3. Any variation of the two options above. Call for more details.
EXTERNAL
The frame was removed, media blasted and coated with PPG CRE Epoxy then coated with U-Polk Raptor. The bottom of the fiberglass body was carefully blasted with dry ice and walnut media to preserve the original fiberglass. Only the driver seat base required repair. It was repaired with extra thickness to make it stronger than factory. The underside of the fiberglass body was coated with polyester primer and then coated with U-Pol Raptor to make it extra durable against road debris. The full fiberglass body was carefully checked for any stress fractures and was reinforced only in a couple key areas. The hood hinges and door pockets were reinforced and smother out so no rough edges are visible. All of the metal reinforcement areas of the body are FREE OF RUST AND ROT. These areas were carefully media blasted and coated with PPG CRE Epoxy. The body has been roughed in and blocked twice for body lines and gaps. It is ready for color. We painted the hood and a few small parts 2022 GM Torch Red, but those can be easily painted another color if buyer decides to go a different color.
MECHANICAL
The 454 4-Bolt Main is a new rebuilt block (see casting numbers). It has not been broken in. We have another 454 that is also rebuilt and has 1500-2000 miles on it (See Casting Numbers). Buyer can chose either motor as part of purchase. The running gear & suspension is the original factory and has been media blasted and is ready to install back on the car. It will need new bushings, bearings, ball joints, seals, etc. This is because were thinking the buyer would most likely be installing a new more modern suspension and didn’t want to waste time and money. We can make it rolling straight prior to shipping.
INTERIOR
The interior is all original seats and door panels that have all been reupholstered with high grade Black Beluga Leatherette and new foam.
