I know it must have been gone over in the past but I couldn't find it in my search.

I'm on a real tight budget on my 69 Camaro project and plan on mini tubbing the rear this week.
Currently I'm planning on going with trailer fenders for the mini tubs.

I want to fit 335/30r18's(yeah, how am I going to pay for those:rolleyes: )

I'm using a 12 bolt rear that is narrowed 2".

I assume that I need to in board the springs, Do I only need to do the rear of the springs?

I looked at the DSE kit and see they come with offset rear shackles.

I think I want to go with the spring sliders like:

will this be the best bang for the buck option?

I looked into doing the same part on my car too. And yes you only need to offset the rear eye of the spring inward for the mini tubs. How were you thinking about going about the sliders?

I haven't checked to be sure those AFCO sliders are the right size for the camaro springs but the idea came from someone on here that did a write up on their mini tub install(sorry can't remember who, too much reading not enough retention)
I'm not sure exactly what you are askinmg about the sliders but basically you make a pad on the bottom of the frame rail to mount the sliders to. It needs to be inset so you make the pad offset in the inside side of the frame rail.

The sliders are really designed for drag racing.

I don't think you'll find a cheap way of pulling this off. To get a tire that large under there you will have to notch the frame. I have started the mini tub on my 69 as well as the DSE 4 link. I don't think the savings alone for the DSE tubs is worth the time to make tubs yourself. The rear of the spring is all you have to move. Somewhere I have new set of offset spring hangers (Moroso I think) that I can sell cheap if you're interested.

Well cheap is sort of relative. I understand that the DSE setup would probably save time which is money, but at this point I'm willing to put myself through the abuse of trailer fenders and forming up the rest myself. You can ask me again next week:D

I'm interested in your shackles, PM or email me a price.

What is the needed offset for the rear shackles?
Do the axle mounts have to be changed(IE cut off and rewelded?)
