My nephew works for bullydog, anybody with a diesel pickup should know them, and they are building a 4 door diesel pickup for an episode that will be shot in pheonix this weekend. They are supposed to match up with a new vette I think. Sounds like an interesting race. I think the episode is supposed to air in feb sometime. I dont have the sat activated right now so I dont know much about the show, what night, time, and station does it come on?

All the Orlando shows from last season are friends of mine. I talked to them aboout doing it this season, for real, with a 84 Z28 I have, but they wanted me to bring it to Pheonix. Supposdly this season is goiong to be all real, but a high doallar pick up against a Vette already sounds...................

I posted of the Nova beating me by a fender but it is gone now. Mark, the Nova guy, I know very well. He is one of the king pins of street racing around here, or should I say, used to be when there was street racing. I know Jimmy (Vette) from the track and the streets, but he is not on my speed dial. Mark still has the Nova.

Uhhh....ya think??? How many guys would really put their car up to possibly lose it?

Got to be the stupidest show I have ever seen. Tried to watch it twice but got tired of it halfway through both times.

I've caught a few episodes, and the show seems to be getting better, even if it is fake. The first episode was pretty funny: A basically stock 4th gen Formula with a 50 shot of Nitrous, and 17" drag radials (mid-high 12 second car) vs. a drag car LT1 Camaro, that probably runs 9s or better. Heh.

For the record, we are more then willing to do it. We have a car built just for it. But for us, it would be a risk of losing a $5000 to $7000 car (not likely) for a 30 minute commercial spot on a popular show. That's cheap. Others would do it for the glory of being on TV. Now would the Nova race heads up a car (the Vette) known to be a full second faster if there was really a chance of losing a $50,000 car? Hell no. Would he race a known second slower car heads up, Hell yes!

I agree, the first show was horrible but it did get better through the season until the last show that I thought was totally unbelievable!

I found out the original race was supposed to be the diesel vs an s10, then the s10 guy said he wouldnt be ready in time so they had a vette lined up to race in its place then the s10 guy got done and showed up. Bullydog brought the s10 home with them from pheonix, I guess 850 hp and 1500 ft lbs of torque at the wheels was enough to pull it off.

When I first saw this show I thought of course car A will beat car B. It has wayyyy more hp. However there is a lot more to it than that. Its set up closer to bracket racing than just having the fastest car. You could win with Ford escort against a 1000hp drag car if you used stradegy.
I watched quite a few of the shows. Even if the other car has a 200hp advantage they set the race up to try and make them cross at the same time. Its actually quite brilliant at times and they use quite a bit of strategy to win. You will see a car start out 6 or 7 car lengths ahead. They let them start as many car lengths ahead as they agree upon. 1,2,3,....... Then they see how close the race is and keep trying to match up the cars.
The Camaro episode was great against the Nova. They never knew if the Camaro was full throttle or not so they only picked a couple car lengths ahead. At the very end the Camaro ran wide open and even shifted at a higher RPM. The Camaro won using strategy.
I realize some of the show is probably fake but the idea behind it really could work in real life if you were willing to loose your car.

The show isn't fake a couple local guys lost there Orange Nova to a White Camaro the episope hasn't aired yet. They trailered it down from CT, to Arizona, They lost the Nova no getting it back unless they winner wants to sell it back to you after the show.

Here is a thread about the build of the Nova and the loss of the Nova.
There is alot of BS in the thread skip to page 5 and go from there.
