So picked the car up a few months ago. I’ve had a 73 and 74 nova and wanted something older and bigger. Really love the 64/65 chevelle but didn’t want to spend a ton of money to get the car and have nothing to put into it. So I started looking few other A bodies and I there were a few skylarks I was going to get. Then this one popped up and I went to take a look. The car needs a lot of work and most of it I’m putting off until a later date. The driver side floor needs to be replaced and the trunk floor is bad. There’s a few other little things as well. I figured I could lay down some fiberglass and por15 for the trunk for now since I plan to lay 2-3 layers of sound deadening down. And far as engine I’m going with a 5.3 with a sloppy stage 2. Also have plans for a turbo with a small amount of boost just to get the wheels moving. 203169203170203171203172203173203174

The engine I picked up for $100. It’s a 5.3. I’m changing out the rod bearing and bolts now. I need to order some head bolts. The first oil pan I used was the wrong one so that was a waste so I ordered the 302-1 copy.

302-1 won't work. The sump is too deep and you'll be all over your inner tie rod ends and not be able to get a decent pinion angle. You need the 302-2 OR notch the cross member and get a 97-02 F-body pan.

302-2 is what you need and don't buy the copy. Numerous have tried and then went with the Holley.

Hey! I am doing a 64 olds right now. Havent posted about it here yet, but I have a thread going over on Classicolds. Frame off currently building from the ground up. Needs a lot of body work though. Trunk, floor, rocker, probably a quarter. Good luck with your build.

Great start, those early cutlass look great with a good set of wheels.

Oh crap i guess i forgot this write up. Still have the car. Wish i came back an seen the posts about using a 302-2 holley pan. Went through a few different pans and engine mounts. As of now i have the 302-5 pan which is the same as the 302-2 without the drain plugs. Decided against the turbo stuff and sold everything. Now i have a 6.0 with a sloppy stage 2 can and a rebuilt 4l80e paired with a circle d single converter and flex plate. Got the car started a mont agi but still haven’t been able to get it on the road since im haven’t trouble getting the brakes to bleed 213375213376213377213378213379
