Who built me? - 1959 El Camino

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing the 59 El Camino in the below pictures and am trying to see if I can find some history on the car. The current owner bought it from Hanksters of FL 3 years ago but no one has any information on the history of the car besides that it came from North Carolina.

Full custom chassis and suspension along with all kinds of other modifications. Some things look like they were done by a very skilled craftsman and some others look like they were hacked. Car is not registered so the owner only will only allow me to drive it around the block. It was pretty noisy in the front end (both bumps and turning) and steering a bit difficult (stiff when wheels are centered, overly easy when starting to turn). Hoping someone may know who built it so I'm more comfortable with the construction of it.

I'm fine with it needing adjustments or even part replacements but concerned about the chassis/suspension construction.

with the what you described as a range of build skill could be because it was home built with portions farmed out to someone that knew what they were doing.
I would be very cautious! what you describe for steering could be to much caster, and if there is not sufficient adjustment to correct it, it could become very expensive.
The front suspension looks to be custom built. look at the tie rod ends, they appear to show a big difference in caster, weight jacks - nothing wrong with having them but they could be the loud harsh ride. the BBC is cool is it a new build but he lost the receipts? the 6pack intake what is it? if its a vet piece it may have a nice value.
the paint is nice, did you take a frig magnet with you to see how much filler is in it? if it dose not stick its to thick, or filled in the rust hole.
