I went to install RTX gauge in my 70 Firebird and ran into a strange issue. Essentially, the main controller box squeals almost like a faint-but-noticable buzzer sound whenever the fuel and/or volt gauges are connected...the buzzer is disconnected so it's not that. Additionally, these two gauges don't power up. I spent an hour with Dakota Digital tech support going through each of the connections, but they couldn't figure it out. They're sending me a new connector as a first step in the trouble shooting process, but I checked continuity in the old connector and all seems to be good, so I'm doubtful that replacing the connector will fix the problem. I'm sure that eventually they will help me get this sorted out, but maybe I'm overlooking something simple...so wondering if anyone run into an issue like this?

try disconnecting all wires except power, ground, and ignition. see if the cluster comes on with no noises. if its on and no noises, turn it off and connect one wire at a time to see what is making it happen.

The new cable they sent me fixed the buzzing issue, and now everything powers up like it should. The only remaining issue we're trying to sort out is that I'm not getting any information to the gauges from the FAST ECU through the BIM module...so no RPM & engine temp. Spent some time on the phone again with tech support, but they need to involve engineers to figure it out.
