I have to buy front and rear chrome bumpers for my new 69 camaro build. Car is going to be a driver, but I obviously want it as nice as I can afford to have. I am 1 hour away from Summit Racing in McDonough, Ga. Do I go there and buy the reproduction bumpers for $160 each? I remember a member saying they were in the parking lot and went through over half a dozen before they got one that fit decent.

Or do I buy an original GM bumper that has been rechromed to show quality for $700 each? Don't want to spend $ that I don't have to, but don't want straight junk either.

Where are you guys getting bumpers from?

Thanks, Mark

If you can find re-chromed original bumpers, you'll have much better luck with fitment. The number of bumpers we've installed at our shop from aftermarket suppliers (goodmark, amd, keystone, dynacorn, it really doen't matter) is in the dozens. That being said, if it's just a driver and you don't really care about proper gaps, then go aftermarket.
