Greetings from Idaho-

I’ve always been a 4x4 type of guy, but kids change things… My son(10) wanted a long bed truck to work on, I said it needed to be cheap and old. I’m not a purist by any stretch, but I’d feel bad cutting up a survivor. Then along comes a 1959 F100- a rusty shell that was missing the fan blade to the rear axle. But it had a title!! It was perfect.
The plan:
CV ifs
Mustang SS50 Irs
bagged (but designed to use coils if the need arises)
Modern drivetrain- not decided yet.
Bodywork-it needs it, but at this point it’s to far away.

This supposed to be a father/son type deal and he’s got 3 1/2 years before he gets a permit. That means he has some time and we don’t have to rush through the build. Currently, I have it down to the bare frame with the font and rear suspensions mocked up.

So am I in the right place?

Yes, you are in the right place. Welcome aboard. Another site to check would be The H.A.M.B, as they do a lot of older trucks over there.

Thank you. I’ve browsed through H.A.M.B. , but the builds here seemed more along with where I’m headed. I’ll start a build thread as soon as I figure out how to add pics.
