Stock, GM Performance, Cloyes, something else.....?

I saw a Cloyes one that is .005" shorter, does that remove the slack in the chain?

Maybe this has changed, but the C5R chain used to be the go-to.

Didn't Katech make those?

I'm running Summitracing double roller w/ LS2 damper, doing fine and running it like I stole it.

You running a carb? Where are the cam position pads on the cam gear? I read the double roller causes interference with cover and/or oil pump.

I believe so. If I were doing a cam swap tomorrow, I’d likely buy another C5R chain. I just used the stock cam and crank sprockets with it. Never heard of any C5R chain failures.

I think Katech sold this IWIS chain -- https://briantooleyracing.com/iwis-timing-chain-for-ls-applications-3sr602ps.html

Yes. That is what I replaced the factory new, never run chain with. I didn't like the slack I saw. Maybe it's engineered to have it, but I didn't like it. The CLOYES -.005 fixed my issue.

From what I read, it is engineered to have the extra slack because aluminum expands more & the slack is needed.
