I am tubbing my 67 Camaro and i want to run a 12” wide wheel but i am not sure what backspacing. I do want a good lip on the wheel but also want to keep it safe. Any help is appreciated.

Your best best it to buy the backspacing you want and then have your rear end built to the width that will fit.

I did the opposite and I'm definitely not saying I did it the right way, just did it my way. I cut the rear end based on DSE's rear end specs 54.75", then borrowed a wheel offset tool from Matt's Classic Bowties MCBparts.com, bought tires from a local tire shop that would let me swap tires until I found one that fit the way I wanted. And measured several times, then several times more.
54.75" axle to axle, 19x12 5.75 back space 325/30-19

Thanks. I like the deep dish and was just looking for some general ideas on what backspacing looks best. If anyone else reads this post pics of your wheels and specs.

They were already rolled by the previous owner. And a crappy job they did. I did my best to clean them up some but they're good enough for now until I get in to body and paint. I honestly think I can get 345/30-19's on there without any issue.. i'm going to try and see
