Hi everyone, looking to turn my MC into a daily drivable go anywhere car. This will be my first build, and I'm here hoping to get advice from the experts. Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hey I was looking for a thread on suspension for daily driving your pro touring build. I'm really wanting a roadster spec chassis but I keep hearing they're stiffer than most and that's not really what I'm looking for. They only have two options for coil overs to install and it's non or single adjustable. I need some advice. I can't find exactly what I'm looking for on here maybe you can direct me.

For a good steet oriented system, check out the RideTech "Street Grip" package.

Welcome. I'm working on a 71 Monte Carlo that I've used a mix of UMI and QA1 parts on the suspension, it's made for a nice driving car especially when compared to stock. Next up will be swapping in a 5spd and a hotter 350.

Nice I almost went with a 71. Did you reinforce the frame at all or just the suspension upgrades. I've considered going the QA1 stage kits over a full chassis. 5spd will be nice tho. Mine has a 350 in it now but not sure if it's built or not I bought it like that. Does your Monte have trouble on cold starts because it's carbed. It was running fine when it was out in the warm sun but when it sits in the garage overnight I have to give gas so it doesn't die. It's a new 3day prob haven't looked into it yet.

I've only done a bolt on chassis brace on the front and have one for the back but haven't put it in yet. I will weld in some frame bracing in the future. The only time I have any issues with the car starting is when it has sat for a while but usually starts with a couple of pumps on the pedal otherwise with no choke, it's there but not wired up and adjusted full open. I want to go with EFI eventually and would like to go to a 6.0 LQ4 or LQ9 with a little work done.
