Match (or at least determine) Current Paint Color

I purchased a '67 Mustang in 2008. When I purchased it, the guy said that his father-in-law repainted the car in the years before selling it to him in 2002. His father-in-law painted the car a GM medium metallic blue color. I state all the background because I'd like to find out this paint color on the car. How do I best go about determining what color it is exactly?

If there is a paint distributor in your area they should be able to scan your vehicle and give you an idea,

I can try taking a small panel off the car to a PPG store in town. I did not expect they would be able to tell but am willing to give it a try.
