I blasted the floors of my first gen camaro from the firewall to the rear panel. I filled in some holes with my mig welder. I need to weld in some patch panels in the trunk still but I want to wait on that. I got a heads up, the rear clip that I ordered long ago will be ready for pick up in about 2 weeks. I already have a shop lined up to install it. The car is in my garage, the floors including the trunk are still in bare metal. The original housing and leaf springs are still there in the back obviosly so it can roll. Im an amateur at this and im trying to figure out how to manage restoring my floors top and bottom while an entirely new suspension is being installed. Should I spray all the bare metal with an epoxy primer before taking it to the shop? Then touch up where they cut into metal for the install of the mini tubs and 3 link? I have a good gravity feed gun and Devilbiss d cups for painting while Im on my back(no lift) under the car and in the trunk. What are the different ways I can tackle this and what different kinds of products are out there? I want a clean look. I have heard good things about SPI epoxy primer. I dont know if I like the lizard skin/raptor look. I dont want a high gloss look either. Sorry for being difficult.
