I never thought about actually putting one in because I thought they cost 6-700 dollars. They do show up on ebay from time to time like this one.

So now I'm wondering what mods or Fab work needs to be done to mount this to the firewall and connect it to the break pedal. The hoses I don't think would be a problem for me.

I did just what you are doing, only I bought a hydroboost unit that came with the master on it. You can bolt it dorectly to the firewall using the plate that it comes on. You will have to spin off the nut that holds the unit to the plate. Then you need to take out those studs that are in there and maybe shorten the plate. I did.
Then, I patterned the holes from my pedal assembly and drilled them on the plate. Bolted it up and walla!

What you will need to do, depending on your car, is cut off the loop on the actuator rod and thread it. I threaded most of the rod and put my clevis right on there and it was good to go.
I had all my lines made and used braided stainless steel. You will figure out which one goes to pump and which one goes to resovior. If the steering wheel pulls when you brake, the lines need to be reversed.

We have done these conversions to about 5 of my friend's vehicles lately. One did it, then me and now we are all doing it.
IF you decide on enlarging your disc brakes, it is a must have. It is a lot lower profile than the booster and if you have tall valve covers, they do not hit the unit.

For some reason, the unit will most likely need to be flipped upside down to work properly. I was told because of pressure, but he could have been wrong. Either way, depending on your conversion, it may not work right side up and if it doesn't, just flip it and it will be good to go.

I think that I have @ 300 in the conversion. $150 were for lines and fittings.

Hope that this helps.

Youcan use a ford one, if you so desire. I would recommend getting one with a master on it. Those masters tend to have the proportioning within them. I ditched all my stuff when I did the install. I have no proportioning valve nor do i have a combo valve. I took out my proportioning valve a few weeks ago because it was not necessary.

This guy has about 50 of these units available. We used them for 3 of the conversions because of cost. I believe that the next one also bought from him because of all the good luck and the fact that the master did not have to be changed out at all.

Holy moses, how big is the reservoir on that mc? Do you use it or switch it out with a smaller one? And if you switch it, what do you use instead?

Here is what I used on mine. And YES, they do use those masters. The bore on mine is 1.74. I believe that the ford one was 1.56 or something like that.

Wow, that bore size seems huge. After talking to CarlC I got one from a 2000? Cobra, looks similar to this one:

What calipers are you running?

These are my calipers. They are from a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V. They are 4 piston Bremebo calipers. 13" front and rear discs. They have been sent off to have the custom brackets made for my 9" rear. I am going to run the Mr. Parker from www.precisionbrakes.com as my parking brake.

A Mustang MC might fit but the booster will need to be re-clocked, the mounting hole centerlines checked, and if the pushrod/MC reciever is the correct size.

I have not disassembled the Mustang booster to check for piston size, but it's close to 1" diameter. No way it's bigger.

Carl,
Are you saying that this setup http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8026263635&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
will not work on a camaro, it looks exactly the same as the one you used.

It is the same. The referances are for the truck booster and MC shown in the first set of pictures above.
