Hi All,

I am working on a 1967 firebird. It has 11" disc up front and drum in the back. I have a complete 2002 z06 front and rear brake rotor and calipers. I am a bit confused on the parking brake. What do people do with the parking brake. Do I need to source the corvette backing plate and parking brake assembly? Can I source the same year camaro backing plate and parking brake assemlby instead of the corvette? What is the easiest way to incorporate the parking brake?

thanks,
Skipper

Kore 3 sells the rear parking brake setup. Tobin at kore3.com. He's also a wealth of knowledge on brakes in general.

If you happen to have a 9” style rear, I have an old Kore3 C5 PB bracket setup that I removed from my car. I upgraded to a DSE floater rear. Tobin at Kore3 is awesome to deal with if you need to purchase another style of bracket.

If it has the inspection cover on the back side of the rear end it's not a Ford 9".
If your Firebird is stock it's most likely 8.2" 10 bolt Pontiac rear end.
