Hi. I have an ls3 525 crate. I got the GM engine management kit, the kit comes with an E67 ECU. Im going to use a PDM in the car and Rywire makes a great harness that integrates the ECU with the PDM.

QUESTION: The Rywire harness is set up for an E38 ECU, can I use an E38 ECU on this ls 525 without spending a ton of money.

Thanks , Merry Christmas.

E67 has 3 pcm plugs where the E38 only has two, not really compatible with each other (harnesses). If you want to use the E38, I would just sell the GMPP kit and buy another harness (like a PSI) that is compatible with the E38.

Sure you’ll need a new harness and a custom tune. Speartech can set you up.

GM's strategy seems to have been to use the E67 for FI engines (LSA, LS9) and the E38 for NA engines (LS3, LS7, etc.). Except for the GMPP LS3 engines which are NA on the E67. Switching to an E38 really is your best bet, I'd say.
