I'm not sure if any of you guys saw my thread in the project updates section, but my '68 got backed into on christmas eve. I need some new front sheetmetal. I have decided to get rid of the crappy unlimited products fiberglass cowl hood on the car. It has never fit right, and it is just cheap. I want to get a basic steel repro cowl hood from goodmark. Here's my question: What should I do for an air cleaner to have the cold-air as functional as possible? I've seen some cars with pretty slick setups. I was thinking about buying a reproduction cowl induction air cleaner kit and hacking off the snorkel on the side of the filter housing. Then I would use a K&N filter and extreme filter lid. Has anyone here done this? Anyt ideas? I thought I saw something similar on Carl C's Camaro at one time. Pics would be appreciated.

Sorry, I found what Carl did on his site : http://www.geocities.com/casanoc/
I'm still open to other ideas though.

I used a Goodmark cowl hood on my Monte Carlo. With first gen Camaro parts and an Xtreme lid the cowl is functional. Pics are on my cardomain site.
